Günther Uecker
Günther Uecker, graphic designer and sculptor, belonged to the inner circle of the artists group "Zero". Time and again his artistic subjet is the nail. It is style and form element, articulatory means and theme. In later years Uecker addressed himself increasingly to theatre and opera; he did stage design and designed costumes.
Uecker has
been working for PHILIP Möbelmanufaktur since 1967. He created the relief »Weißer
Regen« (100 pieces) and the objects »Nagelobjekt 1« and »Nagelobjekt 2«
(50 pieces each) for the limited art edition. For the collection
"Hommage | Philip Rosenthal" he designed the relief »Interferenzen«
(49 pieces).
His explanation for the furniture solitaire »Lettera«, a
high desk created by the artist, is the following: "If I have an idea
while walking and put it on paper at a high desk, that saves me the
trouble of sitting down."
Für das Rosenthal Theater, Selb, gestaltet er die Wand- und Deckenverkleidung des Zuschauersaales.
