Fulfilling the highest of expectations – culture meets technology at BMW Automobil in Munich

Rosenthal Einrichtung created three unique conference systems for BMW AG in Munich based on Cetera. In doing so, the existing architecture of the rooms was logically extended, the integration of the tables perfectly designed and executed. The project was managed by Tecno, Rosenthal’s partner in Munich.

The Cetera-based conference system was designed in the form of a boat, then split along the longitudinal axis. In keeping with the standards expected of a Rosenthal table, each of these sections is seamlessly veneered. The interior of each table conceals a carbon-coated lifting mechanism. This device glides out electromechanically and can then be used to provide a wide variety of different connections (electrical, video, audio or LAN) for the users of the system.

Pushing the boundaries of the technically feasible is an everyday occurrence for BMW Automobil. One of the most essential requirements was therefore the technically perfect integration of the latest media technology – it was essential that the technology remained secondary to the conference system and did not interfere with it. To ensure that the monitors could be slid out as quietly as possible during meetings, BMW had them fitted with special low-noise motors.

One of the three conference tables contains six LCD screens integrated flush into the body of the table. The monitors are electromechanically- controlled via the room control system. The plasma screen built into the wall is used exclusively to provide support for presentations.
