Creating Ultimate Flexibility using the Ultimate in Technology –
Multifunctionality at Wassermann in Cologne
For the Rheinish company Friedrich Wassermann GmbH & Co., Rosenthal
Einrichtung created a flexible conference table system incorporating
the very latest in media technology. From the very outset, the project
demanded
the highest levels of flexibility and technological
integration – not least that the system should function in different
configurations without losing any of its presence. Thanks to the new, light Cetera Slim and media devices incorporated
into the tabletops, the project combines the highest quality workmanship with a
distinguished appearance and ultimate flexibility. The table legs can
be moved and remounted at any time using a lever mechanism – no tools
required! This means that the furniture can be spontaneously extended,
rearranged or divided to suit the situation and can be adjusted to fit
different usage conditions optimally.
The new conference system was fitted with the very latest in media
technology based on the patentpending Controller Serial Network (CSN)
by Rosenthal Einrichtung. CSN means that the system is fitted with just
three cables for audio, video, network and electricity, giving it an
extraordinarily high level of
flexibility and expandability. The CSN
enables the conference system to be varied almost infinitely, while
always preserving its character. With interfaces for LAN, ISDN, audio
and VGA and mains current, the integrated media panel enclosures by
Rosenthal Einrichtung don’t just provide the very best in technology –
the way in which they are integrated into the furniture is also unique.
Layout Variants
As well as reserving the comprehensive conference system in
Cologne- Braunsfeld for its own use, the company regularly rents it out
to the building’s tenants and to other companies in the town and the
surrounding locale. “Before we implemented this project, we looked at
standard products created by various manufacturers of system furniture.
We quickly realised, however, that none of these would satisfy our
unique design ideas and our requirements for flexibility and for the
integration of technology. In Rosenthal Einrichtung we found a partner

Together with interior designers Lepel & Lepel of Cologne and
planners from Creaktiv, Rosenthal Einrichtung and Wassermann
implemented a project which stands as a testament to the potential and
possibilities of modern conference furniture.
